Authenticity & Condition Policy
The purpose of this policy is simple: at no point should a collector be uncertain whether they are looking at a genuine, certified, reproduction or replica object.
01
Four categories, always stated
Genuine — an original object of its period or maker. Certified — authenticated and graded by a recognised third-party grading service. Reproduction — a modern piece created to represent an earlier object. Replica — a modern copy of a specific object, made for display, study or collecting. Every listing states which of these applies.
02
Certification
Where a coin is certified by NGC, PCGS or another recognised service, the holder and grade are stated as documented. Where a coin is uncertified, this is stated plainly and the grade offered is our conservative opinion, not a guarantee of third-party grade.
03
Condition reporting
Condition is described in plain language and, where relevant, supplemented by photographs of edges, surfaces, marks and flaws. Wear, toning, cleaning, restoration, repairs, losses and replacements are disclosed where observed. We describe what is there rather than what we wish were there.
04
Mintage, rarity and provenance
Mintage figures are given only where known. Rarity is described in contextual terms; we do not claim that a piece is the rarest, the only, or the finest of anything unless that claim is documented and can be shown. Provenance is stated only where it can be substantiated.
05
On request
Additional detail — certification images, weight and diameter confirmation, edge views, UV assessment or provenance documentation — is provided on request before purchase. Enquiry only, always.
